2017 Resolutions

Contrary to rest of the world, 2016 was not the worst year ever, but I am excited for all the things to come in 2017. I graduated from college almost a month ago, traveled to new places (Austin, Texas) with my family, and celebrated Christmas and my birthday in a snowy Michigan. I've set quite a few goals for myself this year that range from general resolutions like eating healthy to more specific ones like going to Disney, since it will officially have been a decade since I've been. I've broken them down into categories to help me stay on track.

General Goals:

  • Stop biting my nails
  • Find a PR job by June or August at the very latest
  • Travel to at least three new places
  • Read at least 24 books
  • Watch at least 24 new TV shows or movies
  • Visit Disney World
  • Move to a new city (hopefully for work)
  • Blog at least three times a week
  • Gain 250 followers by December 2017

Beauty + Health Goals:

  • Figure out how to apply fake lashes like a pro orGet lash extensions
  • Experiment with bolder eye shadows
  • Learn how to curl my hair with a flat iron
  • Whiten my teeth
  • Use more all natural cleaning and beauty products
  • Do more DIY beauty
  • Eat fast food only four times a month
  • Eat less sugary and salty foods
  • Buy more fresh food
  • Drink more water everyday
  • Meal plan and cook more meals in a crockpot
  • Exercise

Financial Goals:

  • Put money in savings
  • Spend money on experiences instead of material possessions
  • Use credit cards less and try to use only on:
    • Groceries
    • Gas
    • Necessities (Toiletries and such)
  • Use change saved up in Big Boy piggy bank
  • Buy the Sunday Paper every week
    • $3.21/week for $$$ coupons, well worth it
  • Save over $350 using Target's Cartwheel App
  • Earn over $100 using Ebates
  • Earn over $150 using ibotta
  • Earn over $30 using Checkout51

I see resolutions as a guide to help you start the new year more hopeful and inspired. If I don't meet a goal, I don't consider it a failure because life happens, and it's not the end of the world.

Even though life is short and time is not guaranteed, as long as you go through life happy and on your own terms then life is good, you're good to go.
